About
My name is Margeau (pronounced “Margo”) Gilbert and after a rewarding career in the nonprofit sector, I wanted to give back to the community in a different way. With a background in sales, marketing, negotiation, and public relations, real estate seemed a natural fit. And I was right!
I thoroughly enjoy assisting buyers, sellers, and investors with properties in Laurel/Bowie and surrounding communities. I’ve lived in Prince George’s County for 20+ years and seen it grow into the thriving community it has become.
For over two decades, I’ve specialized in helping first-time home buyers find their perfect home. I also help first-time home sellers, families relocating to the area, people with “challenged” credit, and more. I can help you:
- buy, lease, or sell residential real estate
- buy, lease, or sell land
- lease or purchase a commercial building (my partner specializes in churches), or
- help you locate, lease, and/or purchase a tiny home (love those!).
In short, I’m here to help in whatever way I can.
Being a Golden Oldie myself I hold a Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation which enables me to simplify what can be a complicated process. I believe that you are never too young or too old to purchase your first home. I am proud to say I helped a 73-year-old buyer purchase her first home and that’s been one of my most rewarding experiences – and there have been many.
Licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia, I have been in the real estate industry since 2002 and joined Exit Realty in 2006. I’m proud to be a part of Exit Landmark Realty, a company with a reputation in the community as a hands-on, people-oriented broker. A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund and through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for charities and have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
Each year we sponsor Angel Tree and this past year we were able to provide 450 gifts to 10 families and 49 individuals. Our contributions to Lifestyles of Southern Maryland helped to provide gifts for Children’s Connection. Additionally, a portion of every real estate transaction is donated to Habitat for Humanity to help build homes. Coming from the nonprofit sector, these things are important to me.
In addition to my busy real estate business, I am on the board of several nonprofit agencies because I believe it’s important to give back to the community. When I take a rare day off, you will find me enjoying nature, at a movie, meandering through a museum, or browsing in a bookstore. And being a certified foodie, I’m always up to discover new places to eat!
