Have you ever walked into someone’s home and instantly felt like you knew them? Maybe it’s the gallery wall covered in travel photos, the shelf overflowing with mystery novels, or the vinyl collection that suggests someone never quite left the ’80s.
Whether you realize it or not, your home tells a story—your story.
The Little Things That Speak Volumes
Look around. Without saying a word, your home is dropping hints about who you are and what you love:
- That coffee mug with a chip? Not just any mug—your favorite one.
- The quirky doormat that makes guests laugh? A sign of a great sense of humor.
- A kitchen that always seems to be full of people? Proof that you’re the heart of the party.
Even the things we don’t notice anymore—the artwork, the furniture, the way we arrange our space—are part of the narrative we’ve created over time.
What Story Is Your Home Telling?
If your walls could talk, would they say:
- “This is a place for adventure” (maps, souvenirs, hiking gear everywhere)?
- “Warm and welcoming” (candles, cozy blankets, a couch made for curling up)?
- “Minimal and modern” (clean lines, neutral tones, everything in its place)?
- A book lover’s paradise” (towering bookshelves, a cozy reading nook, stacks of novels waiting to be read).
- “Where every meal is a celebration” (a well-worn cookbook on the counter, an oversized dining table, the smell of something delicious in the air).
- “Serene and stress-free” (neutral tones, minimalist decor, soft lighting, a space designed for relaxation).
- “Life is a party” (colorful furniture, funky wall art, a bar cart always stocked and ready for guests).
- “Nature is welcome here” (houseplants in every corner, natural wood furniture, a window seat for soaking up the sun).
There’s no right or wrong answer—just a reflection of what matters to you. Of course with me, it’s a combination of 2, 4, 5 and 8. And I think that’s probably most of us, don’t you agree?
When It’s Time for a New Chapter
At some point, our homes stop matching the story we want to tell. Maybe you’re outgrowing your space. Maybe it’s time to downsize and simplify. Or maybe, life is leading you somewhere new.
Whatever chapter comes next, I’m here to help you find a home that fits the next version of you. However many numbers you are!
